Your Volunteer Role and housing information

Welcome to your Volunteer assignment page! Here you’ll find all the details that will help you feel right at home for the weekend, including your volunteer assignment, your housing assignment, and a heads up to the people you can expect to be there with you during the weekend.

Each of these selections was thoughtfully arranged in hopes of creating a fun, supportive, and connected experience for you, our families and everyone.

You have been selected as a PROGRAM PAL!

Program Pals provide programming which gives our campers the opportunity to try new things and push beyond their comfort zone. Volunteers in this role are assigned to oversee a program area such as Arts & Crafts, Woodshop, Archery, Boating, Fishing, Adam’s Race Shop or the Fab Shop. As a Program Pal you will join a family when your program area is closed so you can continue to experience all of the magic of camp.

Specific program roles are assigned closer to camp, sometimes when you first arrive. Potential program areas include, FISHING, BARN, ARTS & CRAFTS, CAFETERIA, STEM & the NASCARNIVAL.

Your tag along family for the weekend is THE OUIMT FAMILY!

Your assigned program area isn’t open very long and some days not at all. When that is the case, you spend the rest of the day with an assigned family and family pal.

We are extremely excited for you to meet this Canadian family of four who is making the trip to the states with their EPP daughter, Agathe. The family has joined late in the pre camp process after we had an initial family drop out but the Ouimet family shared that “it means the world to us that our daughter will finally get to meet other kids with EPP just like her. She really feels alone having this condition. We never had the chance to meet other people with this condition yet. You have no idea how excited we are to meet you!”

Your Family’s Basic Info & Their Color Grouping

At Sun Escape, each family is assigned a color group to help guide the flow of the weekend. While many activities are enjoyed together, this color determines the schedule your family will follow for certain program areas. Their cabin will match their assigned color, making it easy to stay connected with your group throughout the weekend.

Your family’s assigned color group is YELLOW

Your Volunteer Housing Assignment

Volunteers and support staff will not be located on cabin row; instead, they will be organized together in communal housing close to the Super Dome. Resembling a college dorm, most units accommodate 4 to 5 guests, featuring two private bedrooms, a common area, and a shared bathroom.

If you've indicated that you're traveling with a partner or family member, we will ensure that you are placed in the same room. You have been assigned to room M1 in our Medical Housing Wing, which also includes:

  • Rebecca Kelliher

  • Brelyn Honiker

  • Ginger Gonsalves

We cannot wait to see you soon!
