

Sun Escape Weekend is free of charge to all campers and their families.

Eligibility Requirements
At least one child in your party (ages 6-16) must have a photo sensitive diagnosis. In certain cases, we can accept children with unique undiagnosed photo sensitivity. Please contact us with specific questions.
The medical conditions we serve include (but are not limited to):
Erythropoietic protoporphyria (EPP)
Xeroderma Pigmentosum (XP)
Congenital Erythropoietic Porphyria (CEP)
Solar Urticaria
Polymorphic Light Eruption
Actinic prurigo (AP)
Families are allowed up to 8 total guests in your party. Immediate family is recommended.
At this current moment, only families and party members living in North America at the time of Sun Escape are eligible.
Children must be between the ages of 6 and 17 while attending Sun Escape. Attendees over the age of 17 will be considered adults and excluded from certain activities.
Children must be at a developmental age of at least 6 years old to attend Sun Escape.
Children must be socially, physically, and emotionally able and open to group activities
Selection of Camp Families
We would love to have every family who applies be able to join us at Sun Escape, but space is limited due to the number of cabins on site.
All initial applications are reviewed and individually considered by representatives from Shadow Jumpers and The United Porphyrias Association.
Sun Escape reserves the right to make selections and decisions based on factors deemed appropriate and in the best interest of camp itself.
An emphasis is placed on selecting the most photosensitive families and the ones determined to be the most in need of the experience.
Camp families accepted will then be asked to apply and abide by the requirements set forth by Victory Junction.
Application and Camp Timeline
October 10th through December 6th- Open application window
December 10th - Families are notified of their acceptance
December 10th through January 21st - Open window to complete Victory Junction forms
December 10th through January 1st - Families to complete required camp theme questionnaire
December 18th - Victory Junction application training / Q&A video conference
December / January - Families notified of their completed Victory Junction forms on a rolling basis
March 1st - Deadline for families who are flying to submit their booked airfare itinerary
April 1st - Camp programming guide, pre camp survey and assigned family volunteer info sent via email
April 27th - Camp family waiver and camp check list sent via email
April 30th to May 3rd - SUN ESCAPE WEEKEND
May 4th - Travel reimbursement form and post camp survey sent via email
May 4th to May 24th- Open period to submit travel expenses for reimbursement.
