Assisting with the Fun and Helping to Take away the sun
Shadow Jumpers and the United Porphyria Association have teamed up again for Sun Escape Weekend, happening at Victory Junction in North Carolina between April 30th - May 3rd.
We are looking for 40 photosensitive related volunteers to join our 32 families in creating this magical and memorable experience for our next generation of Shadow Jumpers.
2026 Application and Camp Timeline
October 10th through December 6th- Open application window
December 10th - Volunteers are notified of their acceptance
December 10th through March 21st - Open window to complete Victory Junction forms
December 18th - Victory Junction application training / Q&A video conference
Spring - Volunteers notified of their completed Victory Junction forms and immunization records on a rolling basis
March 1st - Deadline for volunteers who are flying to submit their booked airfare itinerary
April 1st - Camp programming guide, pre camp survey and assigned volunteer role sent via email
April 27th - Camp family waiver and camp check list sent via email
April 30th - May 3rd - SUN ESCAPE WEEKEND
May 4th - Travel reimbursement form and post camp survey sent via email
May 4th to May 24th- Open period to submit travel expenses for reimbursement.
